芽茶は、茶葉の見た目が丸くてコロンとした形状をしています。
柔らかい茶葉には水分が多く、乾燥されることでくるんと丸まりやすくなるのが理由です。
普通の茶葉と芽茶の一番の違いはこの形状にあります。
ちなみに芽茶は、丸みが強いものほど品質が高いと言われています。
