千葉県成田市の特産品で、成田山新勝寺のお土産としても有名なお漬物。
白瓜をくり抜き、塩漬けで発酵させた後に塩抜きをして、醤油ダレで再度漬け込み、
くり抜かれた瓜の中に「しそ巻唐辛子」を詰め、唐辛子のピリッとした辛み、紫蘇の風味、瓜のパリパリとした食感の漬物です。
千葉県名産の人気の漬物です。
粗く刻んでおります。
This pickle is a specialty of Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, and is also famous as a souvenir from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple.
A white melon is hollowed out, salted and fermented, then desalted and re-marinated in soy sauce.
The hollowed out melon is then stuffed with "shiso-wrapped chili peppers," resulting in a pickle with the pungent spiciness of chili peppers, the flavor of shiso, and the crisp texture of melon.
A popular pickle specialty of Chiba Prefecture.
